Today is International Women’s Day and the hashtag slogan of the event for this year is “Balance For Better”. Balance is something that is thought of and spoken about a lot in my profession. Balance is everything in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Balance is essential for the good health of the individual. Balance is essential for the good health of the Earth, and the Heavens, and for (the hu)Man. The balance of Yin and Yang is multi-factorial and complicated, and yet can at the same time be interpreted simply as a balance of female and male for the benefit of everyone.
The beautiful (witch’s) crystal ball in the photograph was given to me by my daughter and is entitled “Tree of Life”. It seemed appropriate to share it today. Every day, but particularly on International Women’s Day, I honour the sisterhood of my past, my present, and my future. My mother, aunts and grandmothers, my daughter, my sisters, and my Sisters.
The women persecuted throughout history and the women written out of history. The women who have supported, encouraged, and inspired me; the women who continue to support, encourage, and inspire me; the women I have had the privilege to help, and the women I have yet to meet.
I honour you all with much love, grateful thanks, and wishes for a brighter and more balanced future.
